Musetti - The True Italien Espresso at Home
In 1934, Luigi Musetti opened a café called La Casa del Caffè. Patiently and meticulously, Luigi developed the first Musetti coffee, which he produced using a small roaster and then sold to his customers. Thanks to its success, he transformed his café into a roasting workshop.
Fifty-eight years later, Musetti moved to Pontenure, a town in the province of Piacenza. There, a modern factory was built to deliver even higher coffee quality and better control over raw materials. A coffee school was also established on-site under the guidance of the renowned barista Luigi Lupi. Baristas from all over the world come to learn the secrets of coffee, such as the perfect Espresso Italiano, Latte Art, and coffee-based cocktails.
Today, the company is led by Lucia Musetti and her son Guido. The love and passion for coffee remain unchanged.
The story of Caffè Musetti began in Piacenza many years ago, and today, the company is present in 60 countries across 5 continents.
How did the brand achieve this milestone?
Daily hard work, passion, and numerous sacrifices are the key ingredients of all their blends. The variety of blends reflects the diverse needs and preferences of coffee lovers.
The relentless pursuit of excellence is the fundamental principle of Caffè Musetti’s work. and rigorous checks are performed throughout the production process, from the selection of green coffee beans to packaging and distribution.
Certifications of Musetti
The numerous certifications earned over the years are a testament to Musetti's unwavering commitment to coffee quality.
Certifications: BRC, CSC, Bioagricert, Fairtrade, Halal Global, ISO 9001: 2008.
The careful selection of raw materials and trusted suppliers has always been the company's top priority in ensuring exceptional products. Every coffee Musetti purchases comes with a detailed information sheet outlining its physical characteristics and origin. However, Musetti goes beyond this baseline: before any green coffee is shipped to Italy, an advance sample is sent to their laboratory. There, it undergoes thorough analysis, is roasted, and is taste-tested. Only if the sample meets Musetti’s stringent quality standards is the coffee approved for purchase.
The process doesn’t stop there. Upon arrival at the Italian port, the coffee undergoes the same rigorous checks before the green beans are finally transported to the Pontenure facility. This meticulous protocol is part of Musetti's UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 certification system, ensuring unparalleled quality at every step.
