FILTRO Sant'Eustachio
250g tin of ground coffee
This grind is specially designed for use with filter or French press coffee makers.
Sant'Eustachio coffee is roasted exclusively from the finest Arabica beans. The caffeine content is therefore low.
Since 1938, Sant'Eustachio has maintained the tradition of roasting for a perfect espresso. The absolute priority is the quality of the beans. Only 100% Arabica beans of the best varieties pass the superior quality barrier set by brothers Raimondo and Roberto Ricci. A visit to this small but beautiful bar in the heart of Rome is a must for any coffee lover. The secret and world-famous Gran Caffè blend has a taste that is simply incomparable. As in the past, the finest beans are roasted individually over a wood fire.
The following Arabica varieties are used to create this blend:
Brazilian coffee - Sul de Minas
The beans are dried naturally in the sun. This preserves the coffee's distinctive flavour. A very complex coffee, with a slight acidity and a full-bodied taste.
Coffee from the island of Saint Helena - a true gastronomic speciality
Only the best coffee berries are hand-picked each week. In this way, the quality of the harvest is unique. These beans have a perfect balance of body and acidity. Delicious floral and fruity notes can be detected. The medium body is reminiscent of chocolate and spices.
Coffee from the Dominican Republic
Warm ocean currents and constant air currents favour the quality of these Guaigui beans. It is distinguished by its full body and cocoa aromas. Its low acidity and remarkable smoothness make it ideal for espresso.
Bourbon coffee from the Galapagos Islands
The Bourbon variety has been grown on the island for 140 years. Here the variety finds the optimum climatic conditions to develop into a top-quality coffee. The volcanic soils and high mineral content contribute to this exceptional quality. The plants are grown organically in harmony with the natural paradise.
Guatemalan coffee - Fair Trade
92% of the population of Chajul is indigenous. The "Asociacion Chajulense Va'l Vaq Quyol" (literally: one voice) has been improving the living conditions of the Maya-Ixil since 1988. Coffee production accounts for 80% of their income. Today, the small communities sell their coffee directly abroad. This very fine/delicate coffee comes from controlled organic cultivation.
Sidamo organic coffee, Ethiopia
The ideal geographical and climatic conditions in the motherland of coffee make Sidamo so interesting for gourmet roasts. A deeply spicy aroma emanates from these small beans, complemented by aromas of chocolate and wine. Floral notes and distinct citrus blossom aromas with light, clear acidity complete the pleasure.
The secret of Sant'Eustachio's Gran Caffè is created with great care and knowledge of the roasting requirements of these top-class varieties.
"But today, it's no longer enough to buy a coffee of exceptional taste and quality. When you buy a product, you must also pay attention to how it is made and to the entire production and marketing chain" Roberto Ricci.
